Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy scored at 24′ versus Manchester United to make history today. That’s 11 consecutive games with a goal for Vardy; breaking the record previously held by Man United legend and current ESPN pundit Ruud van Nistelroy. His goal put the Foxes up 1-0, and Bastian Schweinsteiger later equalized for United on the stroke of halftime.
Van Nistelroy, with an excellent show of class, congratulated Vardy on the record, and expressed his joy for him via his official Instagram account.

Vardy’s accomplishment, as well as those of his team (they sat atop the Premier League table this morning, Manchester City temporarily passed them up after their victory) are a testament to the equal opportunity of the Premier League. The Foxes were newly promoted just last season. Now look at them. Look at Jamie Vardy too; he’s very fun to watch.
Vardy has been linked in transfer rumors to all the big clubs. United Manager Louis van Gaal was asked point blank by a reporter yesterday is he’s interested in pursuing Jamie Vardy. Read his response here.
