Toni Kroos inadvertently angers Man U fans with innocent tweet

It’s no secret that Manchester United Manager David Moyes is very keen on signing 24-year-old Toni Kroos. It’s also well-known that negotiations with his current club Bayern are tense. His current deal expires in a year, and Kroos has no intention of offering them a “hometown discount.” United has already offered Toni Kroos, his brother revealed.

Of the eight teams remaining in UEFA Champions League, United are considered pretty much the weakest team left, and Bayern regarded to be the strongest.

Munich is the heaviest of favorites, with an 85% chance to win according to Soccer Power Index. Man Utd have just 15%. Also, bookmakers have placed United’s odds at just 18-1

Leading to Toni Kroos writing on his Facebook wall: ‘Ins Halbfinale natürlich…’ which translates as ‘In the semi-final of course…’

A bit more research showed us he was actually just correcting his post before which read.

“A very interesting lot for us! We should measure ManU not on the current situation of the table in England. We need two top games to get into the quarter-finals.”

Not all Manchester United fans were aware of this.

And this led to an angry backlash from United supporters. British media are reporting the Red Devils are prepared to pay the Germany international £250,000 a week if he moves to Old Trafford. As you know it’s been a very rough season for David Moyes and company, the side has been damaged on all fronts.

Since the day David Moyes took over, shares of ManU have dropped 13%. And there’s no reason to be bullish on their future

After the loss to arch-nemesis Liverpool, the official Facebook fan page of Man Utd saw 450,000 people “unlike” it, practically overnight.

This status update led to Toni Kroos being called a lot of nasty names, vulgarities, obscenities etc. You can view them here. Language not safe for work.

Man Utd is the most popular sports team in the word.  660,000,000 million fans; according to the latest surveys. That’s the number quoted in the surveys discussed by Manchester United icon and official team Ambassador “Captain Marvel” Bryan Robson. They are the biggest of brands when it comes to sports franchises. They have a billion dollar (that’s billion with a “B”) apparel deal with Nike. But losing damages recruiting.

And angry, hostile supports don’t help he recruiting of: Toni Kroos, Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw, Carlos Mane, Ilkay Gundogan, Seamus Coleman, William Carvalho, Fabio Coentrao Xherdan Shaqiri, Juan Bernat and all the other players Man Utd is targeting.
