It’s a Peyton Manning love fest all around. All talk of the NFL these days eventually leads to Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, and how he’s reaching the top his game right now. He’s currently a demigod and the numbers back that up. His offense put up 52 points on Philly in a convincing win; Peyton throwing for 327 and 4 TDs.
ESPN analyst Tom Jackson on Peyton Manning: “I want to put him in a conversation not so much as is this the best Peyton Manning we’ve ever seen, but of the three or four guys that I would consider best ever, why is this guy not best ever? ‘Cause to me, I’ve never seen a guy dissect a defense the way he does at the quarterback position before the ball’s even snapped that you’re already defeated.”
Mike Ditka on the greatest player the Indianapolis Colts had well, ever:
“I’ve been around the league for 50 years… this guy is the best football player that I’ve ever seen on the field at that position. Why? Because he studies the game, he moves people ‘round. He puts his players in the best position he can to succeed.”
Switching channels in the NFL Punditocracy, NBC talking head Rodney Harrison on Peyton Manning: “He is the best quarterback I have ever faced. He is the best quarterback period.”
Wow. Strong words. Pretty definitive there about Peyton Manning.
