Tottenham Hotspur are FINALLY going to sign someone this summer transfer window. Yes, Spurs will actually add another player to their side before the window closes at the end of this month, with Ajax central defender Davinson Sanchez. The BBC writes that Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing of the summer will break the club transfer fee record, coming over from the Dutch Eredivisie side for £42 million.
BBC writes that: “The Colombia centre-back has agreed a deal with the Premier League club, but still needs to have a medical.”
ESPN FC is reporting how: “Spurs will pay Ajax £27m up front for the 21-year-old, with a further £14m potentially due in add-ons depending on his appearances and success at the club.”
Davinson Sanchez earned the player of the year award for the team which lost to Manchester United in the Europa League title match in Stockholm. Sanchez joined Ajax in 2016 for £3.8 million, so his price has certainly inflated by a whopping percentage in just one year. Pochettino has not publicly commented on Sanchez, but he did say Friday that he wants to add four new players before the window closes in 13 days. If they follow through, that would be three more in just under two weeks.
What an action packed Tottenham news cycle that would be.
