Tottenham Hotspur fans once questioned whether chairman Daniel Levy’s appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as manager was the right decision or not at first. The debate raged about five months into the Argentine’s reign at White Hart Lane when the early returns were quite poor.

New Manager, same result it seemed in the beginning. Andre Villas-Boas, Tim Sherwood, and now the new guy brought up from Southampton: new captain, same struggling ship it appeared back then. Today however, Tottenham are sailing along under sunny skies. Keeping up with the Football News at Bethut, Spurs stories these days reflect a very happy club.

Levy stayed with his manager this time, and Mauricio Pochettino reshaped the roster in his mold. The deadwood holding the team back was jettisoned and Spurs felt the power of addition by subtraction.

Spurs Manager Mauricio Pochettino said exactly a month ago that it was a little early to be talking title. However, he did also tell Spurs supporters at that time that they can indeed dream big this year. This was on the heels of their 2-1 victory at Manchester City.

Today, following Spurs 2-0 win over bottom dweller Aston Villa, Mauricio Pochettino gave the green light for fans to start thinking title.

“Our supporters have the right to dream. That’s the most important thing. We are in a good position. But there are eight games to play — 24 points. It’s a lot of points. We are in the race, and this is very important.”

“If you compare last season with this season, we should be very happy and proud of our players. Maybe we are ahead of our plans. Why not?”

Pochettino also said it was “very important” to get three points and added: “It keeps the pressure on Leicester. I think we fully deserved the result. I am very pleased with the effort.”
