Sarah Hendrickson is an American ski jumper and 2013 World Champion from Salt Lake City, Utah (home of the 2002 Winter Olympics, the smallest city ever to host an Olympiad). Sarah Hendrickson attended Park City High School until 2011 when she began competing in World Cup competitions for Ski Jumping.

After tearing her ACL in August, Sarah Hendrickson is attempting to return to full strength in time to become the event’s first gold medalist. The other top teen in the event is 17-year-old Japanese phenom Sara Takanashi, who placed second behind Hendrickson at the 2013 World Championships.
So her comeback from that horrific knee injury, which put at risk from competing in Sochi, is now complete.
On August 21, 2013, Sarah Hendrickson suffered knee ligament damage in Oberstdorf. Like Lindsey Vonn, it was a race against the clock to see if she would make it back in time for the Winter Olympics. Well, she did, and Lindsey did not. Much to the chagrin of NBC. And that’s why NBC Sports is desperately trying to add Vonn to their roster of on-air talent, even though she’s not even traveling to Sochi.
