Only the Detroit Lions can lose when their defense gives up just six field goals. Only the Detroit Lions can turn the ball over 3+ times in 5 straight games. Only the Detroit Lions could lose the NFC North title and a playoff berth on a 61-yard field goal. Remember, the all time NFL record is 64. Yes, “Lionsing” is indeed a real phenomenon. And your Detroit Lions are truly the LOLions.

And now t-shirt company alternative hero presents this:

Sound familiar??

Yes, this is the exact idea railed against by Michigan State Spartans Coach Tom Izzo a couple night ago. He just gave a speech against the participation ribbon generation, where even 23rd place get a trophy. Here’s an excerpt: (full speech here)

“It is a little harder to motivate kids I guess because they’ve been pampered so much. We’re in the trophy generation, give ‘em a trophy for 23rd place, make ‘em feel good. Make mom and dad feel good, you know.”

The Detroit Lions have lost their last 8 games in the months of December and January. To quote Yoda “that is why you fail.”

As I wrote on November 25 in “Detroit Lions own stupidity keeps them from controlling the NFC North:”

They’re like the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA; very talented, but playing dumb. Very dumb. They make dirty plays, commit dumb penalties, and get stupid penalties for playing dirty.
