More Penn State coaches say they showered with young boys

penn-st.-logo

Just when you thought the details of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, and the Penn State cover-up of his alleged child rape couldn’t offend your sensibilities and morals any further, we learned today during the Sandusky trial that other coaches, in addition to Jerry Sandusky used to shower with little boys in Happy Valley.

Yes, this only gets creepier, sicker and weirder. Apparently, it was common practice for grown adult men to be showering with young boys in the PSU college football program.

Joe Paterno’s 1992 Letter to College Presidents Reeks of Fraud

joe-paterno

Given what kind of year it’s been for Penn State, Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno, this old letter I saw republished on Athlon seems perfect for revisiting.  Sandusky looks guilty as sin for the crimes alleged against him, and Paterno looks like the complete opposite of the man who was named Sports Illustrated “Sportsman of the Year” in 1986.

Think about that for a second, the man who had his name removed from the Stagg Big Ten Championship trophy in disgrace last month was once named “Sportsman of the Year.”

This is an open letter Paterno wrote to the college presidents commission in 1992 regarding the importance of integrity and and the role that coaches play in helping provide for the welfare of young people.

Yes, he’s giving advice on these topics- a man who helped enable child rape.

I hope you enjoy the unintentional dark comedy.

joe-paterno

It was a very narrow margin, 52-43%, but the people of Pennsylvania do support the recent firing of Joe Paterno a Quinnipiac University poll of 1,453 registered voters said. The poll has +/- 2.6% margin for errors.

By a more overwhelming majority, 74-13%, voters supported the firing of former University President Graham Spanier.

Big 10 Statement on Penn St; Potential “Lack of Institutional Control”

penn-st.-logo

The open college football head coaching position at PSU looks much less attractive today. Public statements released today make future sanctions against the school look much more likely. The Big Ten Council of Presidents/Chancellor met this week to discuss several items, including the mess at Penn State University.

The Big Ten office issued the following statement from the COP/C:

Penn State Actually Believed Urban Meyer was Coming to Them

penn st. logo

Urban Meyer to Ohio State was a done deal long before it was announced yesterday. In Columbus, it was public knowledge in about Late September to early October. Yet, people who live in the Penn State bubble actually believed Meyer would come to this program, even after the pedophile scandal broke, and the sky fell in on the program. Sure, many more denizens of Creepy Valley believed he was coming to PSU before the Sandusky news broke than after. But this headline from Penn Live.com shows you just how delusional and insulated so many people in PSU nation really are.

Kentucky Wildcats Destroy Penn State Basketball 85-47

kentucky_wildcats

As the Penn State scandal has engulfed the nation, most of America is rooting against Penn State in every game they play. At least in college football. When it comes to the college basketball program, not many have anti-PSU vitriol.

However, the 3-1 Nittany Lions men’s hoops team did suffer their first loss of the young season today; and did so in extremely graphic fashion. It was their largest margin of defeat in seven years.

PSU missed 25 straight shots and shot just 16% in the first half as #2 Kentucky Wildcats (3-0) jumped to a 47-15 halftime lead before cruising to an 85-47 victory in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-off Tournament at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

Penn St. Scandal Likely to Prompt Civil Suits, Sandusky’s 4th Victim Speaks Out

jerry sandusky

As more and more victims come forward in the Penn State sexual abuse scandal, it’s becoming increasingly clear that there will be at least a few civil lawsuits against Sandusky, and possibly Penn State University following the criminal case.

Penn State is a very large institution with a lot of money to hire the best legal talent. However, their lawyers will face a monumental task given 1.) all the evidence in the grand jury report 2.) all the corroborating evidence from the numerous witnesses coming forward.

I’m not Johnnie Cochran or anything, but it appears they’ll be better off not trying to fight this, and instead settle out of court. And of course that will cost money. It could bleed the university, and severely hurt the Nittany Lions program. It costs a lot of money to upkeep a college football program.

Joe Paterno Visits Hospital for Unknown Ailment; Media Ignore It

joe paterno

Hard to believe a story like this slipped through the cracks.

Joe Paterno, the recently fired Penn State head football coach and all-time leader in college football wins visited a campus infirmary and a local hospital Wednesday night for treatment of an undisclosed issue. And no one noticed.

Questions abound about the 84-year-old coach’s health in the wake of the scandal and his dismissal.
