The Selfishness of Miami’s Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh

As pumped about Game 1 as I was, I was more excited for Game 2. I was happy that the Oklahoma City Thunder won Game 1 and had a chance to take a commanding 2-0 lead down to Miami for Game 3. Well, my excitement last all of three minutes. Before I knew it, Oklahoma City was down 16-2, then 18-2, then 25-8! At the end of the first quarter, the Thunder was down 27-15.  [Read more…]

NBA Finals: Game 2 statistical prediction for LeBron James

LeBron James

I made a prediction about a week ago predicting LeBron James’ numbers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. I was almost spot-on. He finished with 30 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, one block, and two steals. He shot 11-25 from the, 2-6 from three-point range, and 6-8 from the line. If you want to see what I predicted, just click here. Well, I am at it again. I predicted LeBron’s numbers for tonight’s Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Also, I included the data I used to help me predict what his numbers will be. Hope you enjoy it. (It might be a little hard to follow but I can’t it is hard to show and explain every step).

NBA Finals: My NBA Finals Christmas List

OKC v. Miami

With the NBA Finals tipping-off in a little over seven hours, I have made a list of 10 things that I am hoping to see from the Finals this year. I know making a list sounds silly and I probably won’t get half of what I put on my list (happens to me every Christmas). But here is a short story: Two years ago, I made a Christmas list of 10 things, roughly, that I wanted. Some of the things were simple items like: a gas card, socks, shorts, and headphones. The other part of the list consisted of some bigger items: groceries (I am a college kid), money, and I think I wrote down something outrageous, like a new laptop. OK. I am getting side-tracked. Here’s my list:

NBA Playoffs: Kevin Durant is a “closer”

Kevin Durant

I have said this many times and will continue to say it until people realize it: Kevin Durant is the best BASKETBALL player on this planet. Not only is he 6’10, long, and lanky, but he can score, rebound, take over and close games. There is a big difference between him and 3-time MVP LeBron James: Durant lives in the gym. There is no denying James’ talent, but I am taking a gym-rat over a gifted-athlete ten times out of ten.

NBA Playoffs: Shootings “kill” Thunder Alley vibe in OKC

Thunder Alley

Monday night was a great night for the Oklahoma City Thunder organization. They took another step in the right direction, beating the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1 in the Western Conference Semifinals to advance to the WCF. But I am not writing about Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook or how well the Thunder played against the Lakers. I am writing about the aftermath of the Thunder’s win on Monday night.

Best player in NBA position by position: Dwight, Love, Lebron, Kobe, Deron

deron williams

One of the greatest things about basketball is how simple the positions are: 1-5. Instead of saying “power forward” or “point guard” you can just say “the four” or “at the one.” And this is what’s lacking in both the All-NBA team and the USA Olympic Dream Team. The All-NBA selections are the top five players in the league, regardless of position. The ’09-’10 team lacked a four or a one; last year’s team also lacked a four.

However, this team I’ve assembled is just the best at each position, not the top five players and not the top five who might play best together. I gave no regard to team chemistry issues.

Kevin Love and Kevin Durant put up MONSTER numbers in T’Wolves-Thunder game

kevin-love

Stat line of the night goes to Kevin Love‘s 51 pts, 14 rebs, narrowly edging out Kevin Durant’s 40 pts, 17 rebs and Russell Westbrook’s 45. The Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 149-140 in 2 OT.

We’re going to see Kevin Love and Kevin Durant putting up MONSTER numbers like these for years. The two young bigs are going to dominate Western Conference opponents, bringing intrigue to T’Wolves-Thunder match-ups for years to come.
