New England Patriots Least Liked Dynasty, Chicago Bulls Most Liked, Poll Says

With four Super Bowl appearances in the last five and 10 of the last 17, it’s understandable if you have New England Patriots fatigue at this point. In fact, you may be so sick of the Patriots right now that it’s turning you off from watching the Super Bowl on Sunday.
On the hand, the explosion of legalized sports gambling in the United States and expanded Super Bowl prop betting will make this game “interesting” for those who are sick of the Pats.

And if you are one of those sports fans who has grown weary of Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and company, well a Morning Consult poll shows that you are not alone.

Who, Not Named Tom Brady, Could Win Super Bowl LIII MVP?

tom-brady
When it comes to predicting who could win Super Bowl MVP on February 3rd in Atlanta, you start with assessing the chances of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady first and foremost. Super LIII is a rematch of the game that started the immortal run that Brady and company are currently on back in 2002.
Super Bowl XXXVI, staged after the 2001 season, saw the upstart Patriots beat the then St. Louis Rams in a shocking upset 20-17. Today, 17 years later, Tom Brady was ranked the greatest of all 61 quarterbacks to have ever started a Super Bowl according to the NFL’s official website. Yes, at this point, Brady is considered better than Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino. Brett Favre, Drew Brees and anyone else who comes to mind.

Super Bowl LIII Prop Betting is Very Detailed and Highly Specialized

super bowl liii

The Super Bowl is so much more than a football game, entertainment product or television program. It’s an unofficial holiday that serves as a business, marketing and cultural juggernaut. A lot of industries ancillary to the National Football League do their biggest business in and around the Super Bowl, and the gaming sector is certainly one of those.

For Super Bowl LIII, $325 million in total bets is projected at legal sportsbooks across the country, and there is action on so much more than who will win (New England Patriots are favored by 1.5 points) or the over/under (currently sitting at 59).

Tom Brady: Debunking the Widely Held Misconceptions of the Patriots QB

tom-brady

Super Bowl LI weekend was a crazy one, in the best way possible, for me as a native Houstonian. I spent a good majority of my weekend with the New England Patriots ‘ front office staff, and in the midst of the frenzy I just had to ask about what it was like to work with the one player no one can ever seem to hear enough about – Tom Brady.

Patriots Legend Tedy Bruschi Doesn’t Have “Clean Read” on Super Bowl LI

How will the New England Patriots fare against a formidable Atlanta Falcons football team?

What makes Houston, host of Super Bowl LI, any different from other NFL championship locations?

On Tuesday when I went one-on-one with former New England Patriots line backer Tedy Bruschi, I asked him those exact questions.

Tom Brady and Deflate Gate: it pays to cheat

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady

I have a friend, Jake Haas, whose motto throughout college was, “if you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.” Mr. Haas was not so much referring to his academic career, but to the countless drinking/video games that we partook in during our time receiving a higher education.

Much like in Mario Kart (N64 is THE only version), cheaters have a better chance of winning and if the short cut doesn’t work, you can always use another shortcut later in the race. Obviously, Tom Brady and the Patriots have played a couple of races on the Mario Kart circuit.

Marshawn Lynch won’t be cast in your dumb movie, Media

marshawn-lynch

We used to go for a different kind of movie. Historically, America has revered the Hollywood leading man that spoke with his actions and not his words. The strong and silent type who didn’t wax poetic, but instead just took charge. Talk was always cheap, or so the romantic narrative went.

Movies evolve and so then the characters that the audience demands.

This all does not apply to Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, someone perfectly content in playing football really well and not talking about that. He isn’t a character but his own man. Any rational person would at best respect someone who takes pride in his work and doesn’t feel the need to draw attention to himself.

Many people in the media are not rational.

There are things that have to be written, damn it.

New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers: franchise twins

aaron rodgersbrady

In 1997, the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots came together for a Super Bowl in New Orleans. In 2007, the Pack finished a couple plays short of joining the NE Pats in the NFL title game once again. This season, a Packers-Patriots finale could very well happen; and it’s becoming a trendy pick to actually forecast this scenario.

Tom Brady leads New England’s resurgence

Gisele Bundchen tom brady

The New England Patriots are a shining example of a team that suffered a “good” loss. New England’s historically embarrassing loss to Kansas City in week four has proven to be the wake-up slap the Patriots needed to turn their season around from a disappointing 2-2 start. Since that loss, New England has gone 5-0, winning all but one of those games by double-digits. [Read more…]

London Calling: flailing Oakland Raiders face a must-win already

Dennis Allen

After appearing to send the Patriots to overtime while on the road with a game-tying touchdown, the play was called back for holding. The next play was what any Raiders game-ending interception would be like- bobbled off of their own receivers’ hands and into the mitts of a 325 pound defensive tackle.

After Charles Woodson noted that his new team “sucks” after losing to the Texans, he probably couldn’t muster any change on those emotions after their defense held Tom Brady in check all day. It’s a little early for Woodson to panic, but maybe London Fletcher was on to something before the season started when he called out Woodson for going to Oakland to receive one last pay day. Your New England Patriots 2014 Season Preview

rob_gronkowski-new-england-patriots

Most teams in any sport would be happy with three consecutive trips to the conference championship that includes one trip to their sport’s finals.

But the New England Patriots aren’t most teams.

Bill Belichick isn’t most coaches, and Tom Brady isn’t most quarterbacks. But neither of these guys are going to be happy with anything less than a Super Bowl win this season.

Patriots draft Garoppolo, Ryan Mallett about to be traded to the Texans?

new-england-patriots-2014-nfl-mock-draft

The biggest rumor floating around the NFL Draft was this one: “the New England Patriots are trading Ryan Mallet to the Houston Texans.” This rumor never included any specific stated return for the Patriots, but since the Texans took Jadeveon Clowney with the first overall pick, it has been widely believed that they would attempt to trade for a starting-level QB.
