Of all the final cuts from MLB camps, the termination of 2011 York (PA) Revolution southpaw Scott Rice was about as disappointing as any. Starting his 14th professional year without a regular season appearance in the majors, the 30-year-old was a candidate for the Los Angeles Dodgers’ bullpen until the final cut to make the 25-man roster when the 6-foot-6 Rice lost out to 24-year-old Josh Lindblom.

“It wasn’t an easy decision,” Manager Don Mattingly told MLB.com.

St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke and his attempt to purchase the Los Angeles Dodgers came up yesterday at the NFL owners meeting in Palm Beach. If Kroenke beats out the other two remaining bidders for the MLB franchise, the Stl. Rams could become the L.A. Rams once again.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the matter of the league’s cross ownership rules and Kroenke’s bid to be a baseball owner.

The LA Dodgers Organization: A Complete Sinking Ship

The divorce of Frank and Jamie McCourt has decimated the Dodgers organization. The ownership situation in the country’s two biggest markets has to have Bud Selig very concerned. The New York Mets’ Fred Wilpon should take a look down the right field line at Citi Field and notice the advertisement for the Fox Business Network. Watching that once in a while might rid him of some of his financial woes.
