Casting the New York Jets in MTV’s Jersey Shore

michelle ryan rex ryanjersey shore

The 2010 New York Jets (who play their home games in New Jersey) literally began their NFL season on a reality show; with all their internal drama readily available for viewing pleasure. On HBO’s Training Camp: Hard Knocks, plenty of semi-scripted, Hawthorne Effect induced storylines ensued. As the season went on, more debauchery went down.

Today’s reality television landscape (if there is such a thing as “reality” tv anymore) is dominated by a show “documenting” the trashy lifestyle of 8 guidos and guidettes spending an alcohol fueled summer together in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. And there’s more than a few similarities between the Garden State’s two most popular and trashiest, out-of-control frat houses.

Let’s examine them. “CAN’T WAIT” as Jets LB Bart Scott would say.

Note this is being re-run from last winter. We’ll have to re-cast and find a new spot for Plaxico; and get rid of Braylon

Plaxico Burress Moves to Other NY Team; Jets Clearly NFL’s most INSANE Squad

As you no doubt have heard, wide receiver Plaxico Burress is staying in New York. He’s moved from the first team to the second. From the proud franchise to the ginger-featured stepchild. For the Jets, this means that WR Braylon Edwards is now certainly gone. (If he wasn’t already). That means the Jets are replacing one troubled wideout who did his college football in Michigan (Edwards played for the Wolverines) with another troubled receiver who also played Big Ten football in the state. (Plax played for the Michigan State Spartans).

As usual when you move from UM to MSU, you tend to get more thuggish ruggish. Edwards was fined for a DUI. Burress went to jail for illegal weapons possession.

Randy Moss Headed to New York Jets?

As the lockout drags on, inactivity seems to instill a weird effect on players and clubs alike. Something that starts out as a rumor on some forum somewhere may quickly turn into fact, and something that’s pretty much taken for granted can fall apart and be shoved away into the unsubstantiated rumor bin within the span of a few days.

Rex Ryan Foot Fetish? New York Jets Providing Media Fodder Again

jets

As you no doubt already know the New York Jets recently suspended strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi indefinitely after he blatantly tripped a Dolphins player during a punt return. The NFL isn’t even through investigating that situation when lightning of negative PR struck the Jets again.

Or maybe it’s not extremely negative PR…depending on uhm, whatever “floats your boat.”

According to ESPN.com, the Jets Head Coach has a severe foot fetish.

In a conference call with Chicago reporters leading up to Sunday’s big game with the Bears, Ryan didn’t deny a Deadspin.com report that shows a number of videos of a woman who looks very much like his wife showing off her feet while a cameraman — who sounds like Ryan — talks to the woman.

Either way, it’s yet another off-the-field distraction for the 2010 New York Jets who are about as unlovable as Al Qaeda, the Taliban and Mujahideen combined. Here are the top reasons why, and none involve foot fetishes.

Ndamukong Suh’s Prediction Doesn’t Come to Fruition

suh

Nearly fifty eight thousand fans experienced heartache on Sunday at Ford Field. Ndamukong Suh recently made some comments indicating that the Detroit Lions would not lose another game at their home stadium this season. Unfortunately, he is already putting his foot in his mouth. He hopefully will remove it soon though since it’s evident that he’s the emergency kicker on the Lions roster.

Jason Hanson went down and Suh had to attempt an extra point against the Jets. That was not the biggest injury of the day though. Quarterback Matthew Stafford was injured once again in his young NFL career with his tender right shoulder knocking him out of the game in the fourth quarter. This gave the Jets hope to make a long comeback from ten points down to tie the game and ultimately send it to overtime.
