The Sports Bank will be counting down to the opening tip of the 2012-13 NBA season with team by team previews starting with the worst and working our way to the title contenders.  There is no lockout this time around so let’s get going.

It took a season longer than anticipated but the Miami Heat reached the top of the mountain last season winning the NBA Championship and getting the insanely large monkey off LeBron James’ back.  Management didn’t just sit back and rest on their laurels this off-season, making a few minor but key moves to help the Heat’s chances of repeating.

What Miami Heat can do this off-season to help repeat chances

Your 2012 NBA Champion, Miami Heat.  That’s really all that needs to be said.  LeBron James got the monkey off his back and took the first step in their promise to win several rings upon his joining powers with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in South Beach.  In order for the Heat to repeat next year, they still need to make a few moves this off-season.

Miami Heat Need Better Talent Around LeBron, Wade, and Bosh

Like we are currently seeing in the NFL, the 2011 NBA off-season is up in the air with a lockout looming.  Free agency could be delayed and completely restructured depending on the new agreement reached by the owners and players.  Still, The Sports Bank continues to break down all thirty NBA teams to see what areas they need to address in the off-season.

The Miami Heat were close, but not close enough to win the NBA Championship.  Besides making sure LeBron‘s ego is okay after the bashing it has taken in the past couple of weeks, Miami needs to find better role players to compliment their Big 3.
