Packers TE Jermichael Finley: what does the future hold?

Jermichael Finley is an enigma. When he is playing, there aren’t many tight ends with his skill set. He’s 6’5?”, 247 with great speed, hands, and the athleticism to make acrobatic catches. It’s almost unfair because he’s far too quick for linebackers and far too powerful for defensive backs.

Yet, he has been plagued with injuries throughout his career. You would think that with just 82 catches for 1051 yards and seven touchdowns entering this season that his time would come. Of course, fate was not kind to him in 2013.

Green Bay Packers 2012 preseason schedule; erase sour 2011 memories

green-bay-packers-logo

Given the way 2011 ended for the Green Bay Packers, with that bitter, stomach-churning upset to the New York Giants in the postseason. Which shut the door on the promising, dominating 15-1 regular season, and opened the door for the 9-7 Giants to beat the New England Patriots and win the Super Bowl. (In other words, a NFL version of the 83-79 St. Louis Cardinals winning the 2006 World Series)

Time is already here to move on to 2012.

And the Pack preseason schedule is already out.

Green Bay Packers Blow Out Detroit Lions in Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl

ndamukong_suh

No absence of storylines from the 2011 “Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl” between the Green Bay Packers an the Detroit Lions. You had:

-the Lions failing to live up to expectations/Matt Stafford throwing three picks

-Green Bay winning in dominant fashion 27-8, despite playing UGLY football for a half

-The Detroit fans getting a petition passed to prevent the crappy, overrated pop act Nickelback from playing at halftime

-Would this match-up of two potentially playoff bound NFC North teams live up to night back featuring two first place teams (San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens)

However, the real story here was Ndamukong Suh getting kicked out of the game early in the second half.

Packers, Badgers Undefeated, Brewers Dominating NLDS, Cheeseheads on Fire!

Last year, sports fans in America’s Dairyland probably thought things were as good as they could possibly get. But 2011 is looking a whole ‘nother level can be reached. You have the #5 Badgers at 5-0, the reigning Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers as one of the NFL’s two undefeated teams (the Detroit Lions are the other), and the Milwaukee Brewers about to eliminate the Arizona Diamondbacks in their NLDS series.

Sure, the Bucks are still a train wreck, but the NBA is on lockout, so we won’t really see that.

Yes, there’s something in the water right now; and the state is half-bordered by great lakes.
