When the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Evan Turner #2 overall out of Ohio State in 2010, they thought they were selecting a franchise cornerstone. … [Read more...] about Sixers will deal Evan Turner; Bobcats and Spurs are front-runners

It wasn't supposed to be like this. No, not at all. After Ohio State University superstar Evan Turner was taken by the Philadelphia 76ers second overall in last June's NBA Draft,  and the NBA schedule came out, I circled December 21st on the calendar, the date ET came home to face the Chicago Bulls. The Southside native who prepped with Illini point guard Demetri McCamey at … [Read more...] about Will Evan Turner Play in his Return Home to Chicago vs. Bulls?

Last spring,  I had the pleasure of covering all four weekends of March Madness. This college basketball vocational voyage, which I dubbed the "Midwest Swing," granted me a lot of face time with the national player of the year Evan Turner. This kid from my hometown of Chicago swept all the player of the year awards en route to winning the Big Ten Tournament, reaching the sweet … [Read more...] about #2 Pick Evan Turner Struggling with Sixers So Far

Evan Turner 76ers

The 76ers are coming off their worst season in thirteen years.  And to think, two years ago they were the sexy pick to win the Eastern Conference.  Philadelphia made a splash head coach hire by luring Doug Collins out from behind the color commentary booth and added one of the top college players by drafting “His Royal Smoothness” Evan Turner.  Will that be enough to get the … [Read more...] about 76ers Should Compete for Playoff Spot

July 12, 2010 By paulmbanks

NBA Draft #2 overall pick Evan Turner got off to a great start in NBA Summer League. However, after his first game things went down hill. In the opener of the NBA summer league in Orlando, Turner had 12 points and eight rebounds to help the Philadelphia 76ers beat Derrick Favors and the New Jersey Nets 84-74.
