Top Diamondbacks prospect Archie Bradley: big OU Sooners fan

archie-bradley

As we’re just two weeks away from the MLB Trade Deadline, we’re looking at some of the biggest MILB prospect names that will be brought up by MLB GMs. Not saying any of these guys will be traded, but all of them will be talked about. Some are actually on the table; others are not. And yes, watching Low A baseball is WAY BETTER than watching the ESPYs. No question.

Archie Bradley was the seventh overall pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2011 MLB Draft. He was also committed to the University of Oklahoma to play both baseball and football. Quite a tough decision to make, Sooners or D’Backs?  Rather Bubba Starlingesque.

Bradley picked the Diamond. He’s currently with the Mobile BayBears. Archie Bradley is rated #1 in the Diamondbacks system, #20 overall in MLB and the #10 RH Pitcher.

Former Cubs 1B Mark Grace behaving quite well in prison

Former Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Mark Grace is finishing out a 4 month sentence at Tent City Prison in Arizona. Mark Grace, most recently a D-Backs television color analyst Mark Grace was sent to jail on DUI charges. The “lovable” drunk that used to hang out a lot at Durkin’s on the North side of Chicago trolling for Lincoln Park Trixie booty is supposedly behaving quite well in the pokey.

The man who popularized the term “slumpbuster” is now working on his issues; which are bigger than sleeping with a 5/10.

Arizona Diamondbacks give tryout to Northwestern Medill graduate

bo schultz

I became intrigued with Bo Schultz some time back, not entirely for his baseball talent because it was said he was not a major league prospect, but largely in that he came out of the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern and was likely to become a baseball journalist.  It seemed writing might take center stage sooner rather than later because of his projected level of pitching skill.

Josh Hamilton and Matt Kemp Are Threats For The Triple Crown

Matt Kemp and Josh Hamilton

It’s still “early” in baseball terms, but Josh Hamilton and Matt Kemp have done nothing but put on shows. Their superb play has gotten more attention than Philip Humber’s perfect game. Hamilton and Kemp are going for the Triple Crown in their respective leagues. The Triple Crown is revered, by many, to be the greatest single-season accomplishment in all of baseball.

Gronkowski’s Porn Star Friend Used By Sports Agent After Diamondbacks Games

Adult film star Bibi Jones admitted that a professional sports agent used her to recruit potential clients after attending Arizona Diamondbacks games last season.

Jones has become a national celebrity recently after she tweeted two pictures of her and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski Monday. Yesterday, Gronks felt the need to apologize to the Pats franchise for hanging out with her on bye week.

Brewers Nyjer Morgan Drops F-Bomb TWICE Celebrating 2011 NLDS Win (Video)

Hey, Milwaukee Brewers Centerfielder Nyjer Morgan, you just drove in the decisive run in the extra innings of a NLDS elimination game. What are you going to do next?

Say the naughtiest of all words twice on live cable television.

Fresh off their 3-2 10th inning win over the Arizona Diamonbacks, Morgan celebrated by saying the phrase that pays (hint: it’s in the theme song to Team America: World Police, “America ___ ____) to TBS’ Sam Ryan.

“He’s enjoying the moment guys.” Was Ryan’s response. Watch it after the jump

Milwaukee Brewers Reach First NLCS Since 1982! Defeat Arizona in Extra Innings

logo

The last time the Milwaukee Brewers reached the National League Championship Series was 1982. They sported the logo you see above. It was the glory days of Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Jim Gantner, back when the Brew Crew was in the American League. Unfortunately, they lost to their current division rival, the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, as Catcher Darrell Porter became a hated enemy of epic proportions for all baseball fans in beer town.

But tonight they outlasted Arizona, as Nyjer Morgan drove in Carlos Gomez with the game winning run in the bottom of the tenth.

In NLDS game 5, Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo, who owned game one with a masterful winning performance out-dueled his Arizona Diamondbacks counterpart Ian Kennedy in this one. Kennedy, who was a ridiculous 21-4, 2.88 ERA on the season, threw 6 innings and gave up 2 runs, they were earned, 5 K, 2BB.

Will Ozzie Guillen Manage The Florida Marlins? Kenny Williams be fired?

ozzie-guillen

As the Chicago White Sox continue to let the AL Central slip away, White Sox fans are beginning to demand changes. Both General Manager Kenny Williams and Manager Ozzie Guillen are drawing the angst of White Sox Fans. With the Florida Marlins getting set to open a new stadium next season, Ozzie living in Florida in the off-season and his ties to the Marlin’s organization, could Guillen be the fighting fish’s new skipper in 2012? As GM Kenny Williams “All In” plan is obviously failing, will his firing be imminent?

The Sportsbank has an inside look at those questions.

Crosstown Rivalry Renewed: White Sox vs. Cubs 2011 Begins TONIGHT!

cubs-sox series

North side vs. South side. Red & Blue vs. Black & White. “All In” vs. “It’s a Way of Life.” This is the Crosstown Classic, a series that divides households, neighborhoods, and an entire city for six of baseball’s 162 games every year.

The Cubs travel south Monday to face the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field for the first three games of the series. With both teams floundering in the middle of their divisions, the series might be the only substitute for a playoff atmosphere, considering the postseason doesn’t appear to be probable for either team (at least at this point in the season).
