Beware Detroit Lions and the rest of the NFL, the wrath of Jay Cutler and his magically healing groin! Cutler was initially supposed to miss 3-4 weeks with an injured groin muscle. However, here he is back on the field as Chicago Bears QB1 after missing just the bye week and the Monday night upset of the Green Bay Packers. Jay Cutler healed fast because Jay Cutler is tough.
This year he has a pretty decent Offensive line in front of him, however from 2009-2012, Cutty was sacked more than any QB in the league other than Aaron Rodgers.
Did Jay Cutler whine and complain about having such a horrific OL in front of him? How they were consistently getting him beat up? (The time with Mike Martz as his Offensive Coordinator didn’t help, as Martz’s schemes weren’t optimal for pass protection, especially given the Bears personnel at the time)
No he didn’t. Jay Cutler didn’t moan about it because Jay Cutler is tough.
It’s what prompted me to tweet this today during the Bears game versus the Detroit Lions.
The stupid, untrue “Jay Cutler isn’t tough” narrative espoused by meatballs…it’ officially ends today

The meathead fallacy began in the 2010 NFC Championship of course, when Cutler left early with a serious injury. However, he didn’t “look injured enough” for the meatheads or “act injured enough” on the sideline to appease the football stupid. His mere presence on the sideline, and not in the training room, offended the sensibilities of those who lack common sense in this arena. The media blew this situation way out of proportion and then when Jay Cutler was spotted walking around an L.A. mall with significant other Kristin Cavallari, well the meatballs erupted.
Because of this “logic” holds that if you’re healthy enough to walk around and do everyday tasks, then you must be healthy enough to play NFL football. Interesting “line of reasoning” there. Anyways, Jay Cutler came back early from injury and played through the pain today into the 4th quarter of the 21-19 loss to the Lions. He stuck it out. He’s tough. And if you don’t think so, you’re football dumb.
If you watched the game today on FOX, you might have noticed a re-occurring theme with the broadcast.
If your drinking game is “FOX announcers implying McCown should be playing instead of Cutler”…you’re now dead from alcohol poisoning

Also, it seemingly was not his groin that bothered him today, but his ankle. He left the game with an injury after going 21-40 passing for 250 yards, 1 TD 1 INT
