The Atlanta Hawks, well actually the city of Atlanta, is the latest victim of the Polar Vortex. The arctic blast is dipping so low into the continental United States that it even hit the Deep South. The National Basketball Association game scheduled for this evening between the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena has been postponed due to severe weather conditions in the Atlanta area.
The game will be rescheduled at a later date. The Pistons are 18-27, a half game out of the last playoff spot in a very weak Eastern Conference. The Atlanta Hawks are 23-21 in 4th place, the final home court advantage for the first round. It’s rare that the weather cancels an NBA game…as they are played indoors!! So you know this ice storm is pretty bad, as the city of Atlanta doesn’t have the resources to handle icy roads like northern cities. Why should they? This type of weather rarely hits them
Sorry Atlanta Hawks, and Pistons fans.
