It’s like the Beatles song “Hello, Goodbye.” The Chicago Bulls today signed guard Mike James minutes ago to a 10-day contract. This will be his third stint with the team. James theme song really is “you say goodbye, I say hello…I say stay, you say go.” The Bulls are also James’ 11th NBA team.
Eleventh time is the charm, right? Yep, because James is here to stay. The Bulls signed him for the remainder of the year…well, that’s only a few games, but still.
James had a college career at Duquesne University that saw him finish ranked third all-time in steals (201), fifth in assists (348) and 10th in points (1,411) at the school and included being named to the all Atlantic 10 Conference 1st team in his senior year.
However, he was not drafted.
James, 36, appeared in eight games with Chicago earlier this year and averaged 5.4 ppg, 3.1 apg and 1.0 rpg in 11.4 mpg. This will mark his fourth stint with Chicago this season. He originally signed with the Bulls on Jan. 11 (waived Jan. 28), Feb. 14 and again on Mar. 14.
