It’s like the Beatles song “Hello, Goodbye.” The Chicago Bulls today signed guard Mike James minutes ago to a 10-day contract.  This will be his third stint with the team. James theme song really is “you say goodbye, I say hello…I say stay, you say go.” The Bulls are also James’ 11th NBA team.

Eleventh time is the charm right.

James, (6-2, 190), will be in uniform tonight when the Bulls take on the Miami Heat at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. (CT). This will be a “bit of an important game” in regards to NBA playoff seeding. However, don’t read too much into the results. As we learned last year, the team that wins the regular season meeting doesn’t exactly indicate who wins the playoff meeting.

James, 36, appeared in seven games with Chicago earlier this year and averaged 6.1 ppg, 3.6 apg and 1.0 rpg in 12.4 mpg.  This will mark his third stint with Chicago this season.  He originally signed with the Bulls on Jan. 11 (waived Jan. 28) and again on Feb. 14. This is his second 10 day contract.

James had a college career at Duquesne University that saw him finish ranked third all-time in steals (201), fifth in assists (348) and 10th in points (1,411) at the school and included being named to the all Atlantic 10 Conference 1st team in his senior year. However, he was not drafted.
