Jalen Rose, Carlos Boozer and other bizarre Chicago Bulls record book anomalies

The first use of “OMG,” according to Britain’s national magazine, was way back in 1917.

There is record of Lord Fisher using this astonishment acronym in a letter to Winston Churchill nearly a century ago.

Today we have #OMGFacts and looking at the Chicago Bulls all time record book, there are a lot of “OMG Facts” to be found. We can start with ESPN Analyst Jalen Rose, who holds the second highest per game scoring average (minimum 100 games) in Chicago Bulls history.

I’m sure you can guess who’s first!

This fact was also pointed out by Rose’s ESPN colleague and studio-gangster-towards-John-Paxson Jeff Van Gundy recently. Van Gundy brought it up while calling San Antonio Spurs at Chicago Bulls a couple weeks ago. After Jalen Rose, it goes Bob Love, Chet Walker, Derrick Rose and Bob Boozer on this particular list.

Crazy huh?

Scottie Pippen is nowhere to be found on that chart, but Jalen Rose is #2 at 21.4 points per game. Michael Jordan has a very wide margin of 14.1 as he averaged at 31.5 ppg.

Jordan is also amazingly ahead of everybody in the total rebounds category. Yes, 6’6″ Michael Jordan collected more rebounds in a Bulls uniform than any forward or center. More than Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Artis Gilmore, you name it. Rodman is, of course, #1 all time in rebounds per game, and Jordan didn’t crack the top ten.

Guess who did- Carlos Boozer.

Yes, Booze is tenth all time at 9 boards per game. Quite astonishing when you consider how disliked Boozer was in this town and just how happy Bulls fans were to see him go this offseason.

Indeed Chicago Bulls history, and Jalen Rose history, are just filled with plenty of interesting nuggets and tidbits.
