Update: player who will throw out first ball has been chosen!
The Chicago Fire of the MLS welcome Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to the Windy City for an international friendly on Saturday, July 26. It will be televised on ESPN2, and it kicks off at 7 p.m. CST at Toyota Park.
Spurs who drew with the Seattle Sounders 3-3 last night, will play Toronto FC and then arrive in Chicago at noon on Thursday, July 24, will kick off their tour of the city by joining in a ceremonial bell-ringing at the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Fire COO Atul Khosla and Tottenham Executive Chairman Daniel Levy will headline the participating delegation set to ring the closing bell at 3:15 p.m. Tottenham will then head to Wrigley Field later that evening for the Chicago Cubs vs. San Diego Padres game, where a member of the team will have the honor of throwing out the first pitch. The specific Tottenham player has now been determined via a competition at the training centre.
The seventh-inning stretch singer for that game has not been determined yet either. This Cubs homestand will be a flashback to the 1970s, and will feature many promotions themed from that decade
