Stephen Colbert is on an extreme hot streak right now. He’s been bringing it every night, and everything he touches turns to gold. The #CancelColbert hashtag had the reverse effect- it increased his star power as Colbert became the successor to David Letterman, the most coveted of all late night talk spots.
Stephen Colbert has a lot of Chicago ties too. He’s a Northwestern graduate, a veteran of Second City, and apparently, according to this interview below, was once my neighbor…sort of.
Stephen Colbert says in this interview with George Will that he once lived at Addison and Broadway, but that was long before I lived at Lake Shore and Waveland. Imagine what it would be like to walk past Stephen Colbert. The closest I’ve ever been to him is the picture above that I took- at Ryan Field in 2011 when he gave the NU commencement address.
Back to the interview between the faux ultra-conservative pundit and the genuine ultra-conservative pundit, Will was on the Colbert Report promoting his new book about Wrigley Field 100. I was at the Wrigley centennial game which was….everything Cubdom, and perhaps even Cubdumb as I recapped the whole day here.
I’m not going to bore you with any more politics, just come for the Cubs are always losing jokes, and then stay for the Cubs fans are always drunk jokes, as delivered by Stephen Colbert.
