Leader of Michigan State football, #89 Shilique Calhoun on receiving a rose:
“I gave it to my mom. I’m glad for the opportunity that we had here, and I’m just happy to be with my teammates.”
Yes Michigan State football is headed to it’s first Rose Bowl in 26 years. Just like I predicted on Tuesday, they won by exactly ten. The Spartans upset the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes who were 5.5 point favorites in what was a “game of runs,” to put it in college basketball terms. After all, Tom Izzo was there and he brought his MSU hoops team with him
Michigan State scored the first 17 points of the game, OSU the next 24, and Michigan State football finished it off with the next 17, to prevail 34-24. Michigan State football player Travis Jackson on what turned the game around:
“I don’t know. We just kind of had faith in ourselves, even though we didn’t play the way we wanted to in the first half. We just rallied together. We got all the guys together on the sidelines. We kind of went out there, and Jeremy Langford was awesome.”
Here are some photos I took of the Michigan State football team celebrating on the turf at Lucas Oil Field. And some more Michigan State football players in the locker room after that. Wait will you see the videos though! Here there are.
