French winger Antoine Griezmann is intrigued by all things Manchester United. He currently plays alongside United’s £89.3 million man, midfielder Paul Pogba on the French National Team, and he wants to play with Pogba on the club level as well.

The Atletico Madrid star is often gossiped about leaving, and he’s also been a Manchester United target off and on the past couple years. It’s increasing clear that United are going to do absolutely nothing of note this January transfer window. There’s 13 days until it closes, but don’t expect any action.

Come summer time though, it should be a different story. The team is confident they’ll sign Griezmann once the real transfer window opens.

According to The Independent, United:

are increasingly confident of signing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid in the summer…Intermediaries representing Griezmann and United have been talking for several months, and the Euro 2016 top scorer is said to be extremely keen on the move…The principles of any prospective deal have already been verbally agreed, including weekly wage and prospective shirt number. United would likely have to match Griezmann’s buy-out clause, that is set at €100m.

It turns out he’s been scouting United, with the assistance of the world’s most expensive player. Paul Pogba has been United’s lead recruiter on the wooing of Antoine Griezmann.

Speaking to Sky Germany ahead of France’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Sweden in early November, Griezmann revealed that he often talks with the world’s most expensive player about what life with the Old Trafford outfit is like.

“I always ask Paul Pogba about Manchester United. I think they are a huge club with a really good infrastructure. I ask Paul about some of the players, and if they’re really that good, or if Jose Mourinho is really that good,” Griezmann said.

“You hear a lot of things [speculation] about Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain but right now I don’t see me moving to a new club. But It would be awesome to play alongside Paul one day.”

Ok, so Griezmann did throw in that extra sentence about not seeing himself leaving for a new club, but the fact that he’s scoping out United so much, and getting Pogba’s feedback and insight on the club does convey just how intrigued and interested he is.
