It is easy to see why West Ham United are such strong favorites over Bristol City on Sunday in the FA Cup third round. For one, it’s a Premier League club versus a Championship side. Secondly, there are 17 spots in the English Football Association pyramid between them.

Speaking of 17, that is how many times the Hammers have beaten Bristol all-time, compared to City’s seven all-time victories. The two sides have split the spoils on 11 previous occasions.

Fun Fact: Bristol City haven’t beaten West Ham since 1978.

All these numbers and metrics add up to West Ham being favored 1/3 this weekend, at most sports books, while Bristol City are typically priced at about 7/1. The going market rate for a draw on this game is currently in the neighborhood of 4/1.
Let’s take a look at what kind of lineup David Moyes (who’s currently in line for a contract extension) could go with here as the Scotsman looks to hold serve/preserve chalk.
