Update on Harry Kane Injury Severity Further Delayed

It’s going to be at least another day, or two, of checking social media and search engines over and over in regards to Harry Kane. The Tottenham Hotspur and England striker was to get a scan on his right ankle yesterday, but it was too swollen to undergo the procedure, and thus the medical test was delayed.

However, the Evening Standard reports that “greater clarity on the matter was expected today or tomorrow after the injury had been assessed.” So it’s possible that Spurs and Three Lions supporters won’t have to keep repeatedly refreshing their browsers when it comes to Harry Kane injury news by tonight or tomorrow.

Kane limped off during the first half of Spurs’ 4-1 win at Bournemouth on Sunday, and there are legitimate fears that he could be out for the rest of the Premier League season. Beyond those concerns, some fear that the injury could be so severe that the high flying forward’s World Cup campaign could be in doubt as well.

The tournament begins in Russia just three months from now. The standard adds that “some sources believe the problem is similar to the one suffered against Sunderland last season, which ruled Kane out for six weeks, missing 10 games.”

Kane was spotted leaving the Vitality Stadium on crutches, with his injured right foot in a protective boot. Tuesday saw the Times reporting that Harry Kane could be out “for several weeks,” which is obviously more encouraging news, as that’s much more favorable than the idea of his being absent for several months.

However, we just won’t know until the scan is done and the results are released/leak.
