It continues to be a very interesting summer at Tottenham Hotspur, with a whole lot going on. While we still have a bit of time until the preseason exhibition games begin, but there is certainly no shortage of news topics to discuss today.
So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet on this Bastille Day.
-France will take on Croatia tomorrow in the World Cup Final, and Tottenham #1 Hugo Lloris will be in goal for Les Bleus. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino discussed Lloris and the Spurs players who participated in the World Cup this summer:

France is one of just eight sides to have won at least one World Cup tournament. Their only win came in 1998. For the past month or so, footy news sites everywhere, like Football Weeks, have focused on the World Cup primarily, with some coverage of the summer transfer window. This week will see a shift to the preseason training and exhibitions. With of course some more transfer talk.
We’re only 28 days away from Tottenham opening their Premier League season. Quoting the epl summary and fixtures we see that Spurs again travel to Newcastle United on opening day. Last year they emerged victorious 2-0 from their trip to Tyneside. Spurs will begin their preseason tour in just 11 days.
Below you’ll find the Tottenham Hotspur overseas preseason exhibition tour schedule.
25 July v Roma (SDCCU Stadium, San Diego)
28 July v Barcelona (Rose Bowl Stadium)
31 July v AC Milan (US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis)
4 August v Girona (Estadi Montilivi, Spain)
-In today’s World Cup third place game, in which Belgium bested England 2-0, saw Spurs place a combined six players into the two starting XIs: Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier and Harry Kane for England, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld for Belgium.
We got to see the rare defender save in this match as Alderweireld denied Dier, who had a golden opportunity on a give and go with Danny Welbeck. Have a look see:
