Tottenham Hotspur welcome Stoke City to Wembley Stadium tomorrow afternoon looking to right their form and get a winning streak going again. They have just one win in their last six, to go along with three losses and two draws.
They are essentially eliminated from Premier League title contention as there is pretty much no room for error when it comes to keeping up with Manchester City. Table topping City has taken 43 points from their first 45, and that means Spurs will now play domestically for top four.
In Europe there is plenty of good news though, as Tottenham are through to the Champions League knockout round. Spurs were a part of England’s record setting UCL representation, and stand a decent chance of advancing further, depending on their draw. The Guardian ranked all 16 teams left standing and Spurs checked in at #9.
The draw will be held Monday. Getting back to this weekend, Tottenham will be missing two players due to injury- midfielder Victor Wanyama, due to a knee issue. His return timetable is unknown.
Defender Toby Alderweireld is the other injured player, as he is suffering from a hamstring issue that is expected to keep him out until the new year. Defender Davison Sanchez will be missing due to a suspension, as he begins serving his three match ban over his red card versus Watford.
