Tottenham Hotspur at Everton tomorrow could have been this Premier League weekend’s headliner fixture. All the pieces were in place for that, back in the preseason, after both teams spent big in the summer transfer window. However, it’s turned out to be wasteful spending as both sides are enduring rough seasons defined by underachievement.
After 10 games, you have 11th place Tottenham visiting 16th place Everton. The visitors have been a top three fixture as of late while the hosts were expecting to be in the race for European qualification, at least on some level.
So while this contest doesn’t have the hype many thought it would, it should still be pretty evenly matched, and this produce some level of excitement from that.
Let’s take a look at who Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino may select in his first team, as he looks to try and get the ship of the 2019-20 season righted.
