Tottenham Hotspur were walloped big time by Borussia Dortmund in Europa League competition yesterday. BVB looked like one of the best teams in Europe. Of course they did; they were facing the Spurs J.V. or junior varsity. There were lots of B-teamers and reserves in that lineup Mauricio Pochettino started yesterday.
Of course, Pochettino had no apologies at all for the lineup that he went with.
Spurs have to focus on the Premier League title first, making the top four at least, with Europa League of tertiary concern.
Without further ado, let’s just get to the Tottenham Hotspur starting XI for Sunday’s fixture against Aston Villa. Spurs are currently five points behind Leicester City with just nine games left to play. Harry Kane maintains that there is nothing for Spurs to be concerned about right now however.
The Villans are destined for relegation. They are dead last with a bullet, and will inevitably be dropped. Dele Alli warns though that the team can’t be complacent. They must “kill off” this team.
According to the London Evening Standard, Danny Rose is way ahead of schedule with his return. Eric Dier is supposed to be back as well for this one.
