It seems Spurs Manager Mauricio Pochettino is still very persistent about acquiring young talent to reshape his front line, and create more offense. He found somebody to supplement the young and exceedingly talented striker Harry Kane, and now he’s looking for more.

On August 9th, Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Tottenham could sign a striker in “the next few days.”

Clinton N’jie was signed from Lyon on August 14th.

“We have our target, I think in the next few days maybe something [will] happen,” said Pochettino then.

“No worries about that and the people won’t worry about the team because we have a lot of good players that can play like a striker.”

“We need to be [more] solid than last season because we scored a lot of goals but the problem was we conceded a lot of goals. If we are more solid maybe we can reduce the gap with the top four.”

Then Spurs pursued Saido Berahino, but it doesn’t seem to be working out.

“Yes, we have confidence we will bring in an offensive player but I can’t give the name today,” the Argentinian coach said today.

“Yes, this is true [you need to have more than one option], because if you only have one, and after you fail to sign them, you are dead.”

“Players that we want to bring here are always happy to join us,” he said. “Tottenham is a big club, we play very attractive football and our philosophy is very clear.

“I promise you: if we want to bring a player they want to come, but we need to bring the right profile for us.”
