Tottenham Hotspur truly sent a strong message last Sunday during the weekend’s most important Premier League fixture. Spurs controlled the pace and tempo at White Hart Lane during a decisive 2-0 win over table topping Manchester City.
The Lilywhites narrowed the Citizens lead from four points to three in the first place versus second place match-up.
Tottenham are without a doubt a serious league title contender right now, but the sports betting community, like those at M88, apparently didn’t get the memo. The sports wagering world apparently also forgot who was the last team standing in the way of Leicester City’s insane 5,000-1 longshot run to the league title.
It was Tottenham Hotspur, who spent most of the 2015-16 season in second place, before faltering in the final stretched and being surpassed by Arsenal in the final month.
Manchester City were the preseason title favorites, and they retain that status right now. I have no issue with that at all, but Tottenham Hotspur are only fourth? I strongly disagree. Liverpool, not in the conversation at all during the summer, are now up to second. The Reds have started strong, playing their way into the top four at the international break.
Manchester United, who had the second best odds in the preseason, are now down to fifth. I would have to agree that assessment, given the recent slump of the Red Devils.
