Although it’s very early in the season, there’s no doubt that Saturday’s match between Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City has massive top four implications. Spurs come into this one in third place and looking to right the ship after having left two Champions League group stage points on the table at Olympiacos.
“We need to improve in all aspects. After leading 2-0 against Arsenal and Olympiacos, we aren’t talking about quality, just being better in this type of situation,” Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said after the 2-2 draw last night. “It must be about your mentality and your will.”
The good news is that the trip to Greece resulted in no fresh injury concerns. Defenders Serge Aurier and Danny Rose, who both sat out in Piraeus, will return to the mix after having been rested, per Football.London.
The third place visitors will be without the services of two of their summer transfer window additions: Giovani Lo Celso (hip) and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring). The former returned from international duty with Argentina a long term injury absentee while the latter has yet to feature for the north London side.
In turning to the fifth place hosts, full-back Ben Chilwell is expected to be available for selection, despite having had a minor fitness issue this week.
Elsewhere, Matty James continues his long term recovery from Achilles surgery.
Otherwise, the Foxes have a fit squad.
