Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial Dominate CSKA Moscow in First Half

You couldn’t have asked for a better first half if you’re a Manchester United supporter. Just 27 minutes in, and it appears that the result at CSKA Moscow in UEFA Champions League group play is most likely already settled. United went up 3-0 before the match was 30 minutes in, on the strength of a Romelu Lukaku brace and an Anthony Martial penalty kick conversion.

Both Romelu Lukaku goals (4′, 27′) were assisted by Martial.

Lukaku scored his ninth and tenth goals for United in just nine games. The £75 million that United paid for him this past summer is looking like chicken feed; especially so in how much the market exploded a month after he was signed.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan won a penalty in the 18′, leading to Martial stepping up and converting the PK.

Getting back to Lukaku, you got to love the understated goal celebration he performed after his second one. This photo right here is literally the extent of it:

Of course, Real Madrid are the favourites, but there are a few teams that are worth keeping an eye out for.

PSG have been looking good since they signed Neymar and Barcelona’s odds are staying good after their smart performance against Juventus, as well as Man City and Man U both looking set to put in a good performance. But what about top scorer? Of course, Ronaldo’s looking like a strong contender but what about Lukaku? He got on the score sheet against Basel and Harry Kane scored a brace against Dortmund. And of course, let’s not forget, Neymar stepping out of Messi’s shadow and scored in his first game.

He’s been join top scorer before with Messi and Ronaldo, could this be his year? For a more detailed breakdown of each group check out the infographic below- do you agree with how the bookies are seeing it?
