Tuesday was a bombshell news day at Manchester United. This morning Jose Mourinho was sacked. About 45 minutes later, Paul Pogba was in hot water over a branded social media post that was misinterpreted as a classless shot at the now unemployed Mourinho. Now the word is out on who will be Mourinho’s replacement in the short term- club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Another badly kept secret is who the club will be targeting as a long term replacement- Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino. Of course, there is Zinedine Zidane and Laurent Blanc chatter as well. If you’re looking to wager on who the next United manager is, be sure to check out the bonus codes reviews and the current odds. Zidane leads the way 4/1, while Blanc is backed 10/1. The next set of candidates, with their respective odds are as follows: Michael Carrick 14/1, Antonio Conte 16/1, Leonardo Jardim 16/1 and Eddie Howe 16/1.

For the time being, assistant coach Michael Carrick, the long tenured and highly decorated midfielder who retired from playing this past May, will lead the team in training. According to the Telegraph, Solskjaer, currently in charge at Molde, will be appointed as United’s interim boss until the end of this season.

His staff will reportedly include Mike Phelan, the long time former assistant under Sir Alex Ferguson. The next manager will become United’s fourth in just six years, as the club has taken a major step down in quality of football played since Fergie retired.

Former United captain Gary Neville, currently a television pundit and frequent critic of the club says the real problems lay within the front office, and that will nothing will change until that realization is made.

“They’ve got to reset the football structure within the club,” said Neville, who played under Ferguson, on Tuesday.

“They’ve got to put more intelligent people in there who understand the football side of things and not just hide behind the manager. They have to look at themselves as well and make sure there is a change.”
