Mo Salah Breaks Premier League Scoring Record, Wins Player of the Year

Liverpool forward Mo Salah had a very special, and indeed extremely memorable Championship Sunday. The 25-year-old Egyptian international, already the reigning PFA Player of the Year, scored his 32nd goal of the Premier League season, in a 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion that clinched the final UEFA Champions League slot, on the last day of the season, for the Reds.

That goal means that Salah has the Premier League single season scoring now all to himself. He entered the day sharing the record with Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez. Sunday also saw Mo Salah claim the Premier League Player of the Season Award, another honor to go with everything else he achieved this season.

The investment in Salah has paid off more unpredictably than the bonuses at sloty casino; no one could have seen this coming.

“They say I didn’t have success here the first time,” he said. “So it was always in my mind to have success here in the Premier League. I am very happy. I am very proud to win it.”

“My idea when I returned to England was to give 100% and succeed here. And so it has been. I hope to continue doing well next year.”

“Everyone tells you how brilliant you are,” joked Jurgen Klopp, Salah’s amiable manager. “They give you an award for everything. You get an award for getting out the car.”

What might be next for Mo Salah on an individual perspective? Perhaps the Ballon d’Or?
