Manchester United Starting XI Prediction at Villarreal (UCL)

Assistant coach and club legend Michael Carrick is now in charge (on an interim basis) at Manchester United, and he must start prepping right away, as a UCL group stage match immediately draws near. United will travel to Villarreal, on Tuesday night, in a rematch of last season’s UEFA Europa League finale.

The post Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era (his exit interview at this link) commences in midweek, with a clash that has been designated a security risk by the government. Also, for a look at four leading candidates to replace Solskjaer, go here.

Let’s take a look at how Carrick could shape his team, in his very first game in charge (on an interim basis). Expect a couple fringe players, who don’t typically get minutes, to get a start here, because of a rash of injuries in the team.

New manager bounce, right? I guess we’ll see if there is a moral boost that results in a victory.

  1. We will see if carrick is going to win the ucl tommorro “love all united player, fans and board

  2. Zamri Bin Yusof says

Good thing…van deer beek and dalot should be included in the team…I think the team will be different for the game …love MU

  3. Here is wishing my beloved Man Utd a happy new beginning.

  4. I love it united will stand

  5. Samuel musau says

I can’t trust Dalot in this game, he cannot defend. He was the weakest link at Atalanta(if I get it right)and CR7 needs to be dropped to the bench for this squad to remember to play. He needs to come in at around 60 minutes to change the have. Rushford needs to get his confidence back too. Some shots too he’s managed to waste that he should be scoring. We need to see Sancho on the right. Amad too should be involved. We need ball players there, players with a footballing brain. The captain has lost his confidence, drop him and let Bailly take charge

  6. Finally something which should have been done last season after the abject defeat to Villarreal, has happened. The whole hierarchy and the Board are guilty of criminal procrastination and neglect. Other clubs with new managers are flying and it took for a promoted club which is also struggling to finally drive some some sense and sensibility to do the right thing to sack the schoolboy coach. In fact the hierarchy should resign en-bloc for the shambles they have brought upon the club with apparently blind leadership.

  7. I think Bruno and Ronaldo should both come of the bench for the next few games, cause they lazy and not hungry enough. Players like Jesse, DVB, Sancho, Rushford and even Amad and Greenwood together with Cavanni should lead our from middle to forward for a couple of games.

  8. I think Man United should adapt the line up of 4:4:2 making Cavani and CR7 twin strikers.

    Drop Maguire and Lindelof.

We will definitely win. Ole has left ulcers in my heart because of those too many loses.

  9. My Xi opinion :Gk. DE gea
    Rb.dalot,cb baily, cb lindelof, lb,Telles
    . . . . .cmf, vbk. Dmf tominay
    . . . . . . . . . . . Amf lingard
    WfR, sancho. . . . . . . . . . . WfL, Rashford
    . . . . . . . . . . . Cf, Ronaldo.

  10. Man united to go with 4:4:2 formation of which Edinson cavani and cristiano Ronaldo to pair together and we will see a win of 3-1 io favour of man united

  11. I Am HOpeyemi says

We need to have make use of Baily, we don’t need Maguire at all for I believe something great will happen if Pogba, van deer beak and Sancho play along side with Bruno, Rashford and greenwood at the front, while we make use of Ronaldo at 50-60min and Cavani/lingered at 70upward.
Our middle is very important even than the back, as a matter of fact if there’s replacement I think we can convert wan bissaka to middle, while Saw, Linderlof, Baily and probably dalot at the back

  12. Don’t start buno and Ronaldo, start lingard, rashford, sacho, vdb, Tomy, Fred, don’t use Maguire, lindee.

  13. Festus Ogana says

4-4-2 best for us, David De Gea, wan Bisaker Bailey, Victor Lindalof, Teles. Rashford, Brouno, Van Da Beek, Sancho. Cavani and CR7

  14. Come with 4.3.3 lineup agains v…l w.bishaka maq.v.lind..f and d.dalot mtf m.tom.fred b.fenandes rasfort c ronaldo sancho.

  15. Let wait to see the outcome of sacking ogs because it seems some players were playing part in letting him go , now he is gone let them get back to serious business

  16. I want to see bailly in that team maguire should be on bench the has team spirit

  17. Charles Bodmas Ocen says

Another blame should be put on Maguire. He plays like not a captain and l wish the captainship should be withdrawn from him,he should be benched. He brags for scoring for England yet he has the like of Stones covering his shilly defensive errors.

  18. Ok,beily is Better Than Maguire!

  19. micbreaker mj says
