Huddersfield Town A.F.C. came into their home fixture against Manchester United as 10/1 underdogs, but brimming with confidence anyway. Clearly, they were focused and believing in themselves and what they could achieve as the scored twice on United in the first 33 minutes.
Until that point, United had conceded two whole goals this entire season. You knew in the first half that this one was over, or at least you did if you’re aware of this fact- no Jose Mourinho team has ever come back from being two goals down to win.
The result was United’s first lost to Huddersfield in 65 years, and social media completely exploded in response. Right now, Huddersfield, Manchester United, Lukaku and Man U are all trending terms on Twitter. Yes, United were very injury depleted, but that’s still no excuse. The richest club in the world shouldn’t ever lose to just promoted small club like this.

We’ll see what happens in the postgame news conference, but it will certainly be interesting to see how Mourinho attempts to spin the Huddersfield result. Or maybe he won’t- perhaps he’ll just tell it like it is.
