It’s the last international break of the season, and thus, Manchester United are currently off until March 30. We don’t have a game to talk about for awhile, but there are plenty of news topics to discuss.
Let’s take a spin through the inter webs and see what’s buzzing in Manchester United cyberspace right now. We begin with midfielder Nemanja Matic, the latest Red Devil to come out and publicly endorse the idea of interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer staying on board beyond the end of the season.
It remains to be seen whether or not he will, and we probably won’t know until the end of the campaign.
Matic believes it is vital to keep the coaching staff in place as well.
“I think he is a great manager,” Matic said of the Norwegian in an interview with ESPN UK ,“but you have to say also that with Mike, Michael and Kieran, they work very well together. They work as a team. It is not only Ole.
“There are people behind him who help us. I will be happy if he stays, and I hope he will.”
In staying with the midfield, Juan Mata will be back in contention to start versus Watford this weekend. The Spaniard provides a nice fitness boost to a side that has plenty of fitness concerns to deal with this international break.
“In terms of training sessions, this week has been a very positive one for me,” Mata wrote in his very popular and often cited weekly blog.
“I have made the most of the chance to get in top shape after making my return in the FA Cup not long ago. I am feeling good and I am looking forward to doing whatever I can to help the team as much as possible.”
