Sunday’s NBCSN telecast of defending champions Manchester United in their 1-0 victory over first-place Arsenal averaged 803,000 viewers to rank as the third most-watched Premier League match on cable in the U.S. on record. Robin van Persie scored the game’s only goal on a 27th-minute header to lift Manchester United to their third straight league win and hand his former club their first Premier League loss in 10 matches.
Manchester United beat the Premier League’s number one defense and closed the gap between themselves and first place. It had been 8 points entering the match. This fall, NBCSN has televised two of the three most-watched Premier League matches in U.S. cable history. United continued their recent dominance over Arsenal, proving that they indeed have their number.
