Merry Christmas Manchester United and Huddersfield Town supporters! The Terriers head to Old Trafford for a mid-afternoon Boxing Day Premier League fixture and we have the injury and fitness report for you right here. Let’s break it all down this Christmas Eve.
Starting with David Wagner’s side, Australian international Aaron Mooy tore a knee ligament earlier this month in a loss to Arsenal and is set to miss out. Team Captain Jonathan Hogg missed the home defeat to Southampton this past weekend, due to a knee injury, but he could be in contentions for this one, should he pass a late fitness test.
Likewise for Rajiv Van La Parra, who could be fit enough to feature in this one. Meanwhile Abdelhamid Sabiri, Tommy Smith are Danny Williams are all listed as injury absentees for this one.
In switching over to the hosts, striker Romelu Lukaku has been missing due to a personal issue and he’s not expected to return in time for this one. Chris Smalling, who withdrew from pregame warm-ups at Liverpool due to injury, is likely out for this one as well.
Another central defender, Argentine Marcos Rojo, has been out injured for the last two matches and isn’t expected back on Wednesday. However, young midfielder Scott McTominay, who has missed the last two due to a knock, could be in contention for this one.
Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer certainly made the most of his debut, winning big and showcasing lots of fun-to-watch free flowing football. If this continues, then he may really be in the running to get the gig full-time.
Expect plenty of scoring and another blow out victory here against the league’s penultimate side.
