The mid November international break is the perfect time to talk some transfer rumors, as the January window will be here before you know it. In this article we focus on Manchester United, and with so much ground to cover, let’s just dive right in.
One player previously linked to the club, and certain to command a very transfer fee in the open market is Manchester United forward Anthony Martial. Sky Sports claims that “talks over a new contract remain deadlocked” with his current club and that Old Trafford are bracing for January window interest from Chelsea and Juventus.
Both clubs were reportedly keen on the Frenchman during the summer.
Martial was also linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich in the preseason as well. Given how fine his form has been since the beginning of October, he’ll be a hot commodity, and thus his agent could be really busy.
Martial could also be used as part of a deal that finally brings Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic over. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is a long time admirer, and the Mirror, citing reports in Italy, claim a deal could get done in the upcoming window.
The Croatia international could be had for about £30 million, although the price would or change significantly if Martial is part of the transaction. Earlier this month we saw reports that claimed Inter were interested in the Frenchman, but United may not be keen on doing a swap kind of deal here in order to get the winger.
The last one they did (with Arsenal, involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan) failed miserably. It’s probably a bit of a stalemate here as United haven’t been able to close a deal for Perisic across several transfer windows now, and Martial is someone with value higher than just a swap deal here.
Finally, we stay with the French flair as L’Equipe claim that United reached an agreement weeks ago for Amiens youngster Noam Emeran. The report says that Emeran would stay with his current club until next year, when he would then become a part of United’s youth academy.
Reportedly, this kid has a ton of potential.
