It’s another international break and thus, kind of a slow time when it comes to big headlines, but there’s still a whole lot of important Manchester United news items out there. Here are links to some of the more relevant United news stories currently circulating on the internet.

–Paul Pogba arrived on international duty with France this week, but L’Equipe reports he will be on the bench on Friday night when the the national team takes on Columbia.

–According to the BBC: “Alexis Sanchez has joined Chile’s squad for Saturday’s game in Sweden despite asking to be excused from international duty following a “difficult” start to his Manchester United career.”

Great things also come to an end and it is time to move on after two fantastic seasons with Manchester United. Thank you to the club, the fans, the team, the coach, the staff and everybody who shared with me this part of my history. #foreverred pic.twitter.com/vo1Gs3SUHL

-Multiple reports, all day indicated that Manchester United let Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of his contract early to let him move on to Major League Soccer.

Throughout the course of the day we received confirmation from United itself that Ibra has been released from his contract, and his deal terminated.

Later in the day we got confirmation from Ibrahimovic himself, who will now join the L.A. Galaxy.

-Manager Jose Mourinho gave an interview today to CNN’s Amanda Davies, who confessed she’s a long time die hard supporter of the club. During the Q&A Mourinho said he understands how and why supporters are frustrated, but he doesn’t understand why he gets all the criticism.

He also said that people with brains, sense, common sense and a basic knowledge of sports will realize that he has taken over a club that is in transition, and that this is just year two of that transition.

“Of course in the future we want to have 19 clubs behind us but this is the reality,” said Mourinho.

“And the reality is for people with brain, with sense, with common sense, with knowledge of what sports is, we are in a moment of transition. Being in a moment of transition and still manage to do what he did last season and win trophies and to do what we are trying to do this season, which is still trying to win a trophy, and try to be second, because in this moment it’s the only top position that is possible for us to get.”

“I think we are in a good position.”
