The offseason has now arrived for Manchester United, as the Red Devils won’t be reunited again until training camp in July. However, it’s going to be a very busy summer, and certainly an exciting transfer window at Old Trafford, with a whole lot of topics to discuss.
Today is another active news day, so let’s take a spin through the headlines.
Just retired midfielder, and newly minted member of the coaching staff Michael Carrick did his best to try and quell Paul Pogba transfer rumors. United’s Captain during this past season has told the media that the narratives linking the Frenchman away from Old Trafford are not something that any of us should even give another thought to.
“Of course he’s got a future, he’s a big player for us, he’s a great age, he’s got his peak years ahead of him. It’s not even something I’d give a second thought to, to be honest.”
–The Manchester Evening News held a fan poll in which respondents could register their approval and disapproval with individual players. United supporters were essentially asked who should go and who should stay this summer transfer window and there are five players that fans want out.
Matteo Darmian, Marouane Fellaini and Daley Blind should all be jettisoned, the fans resoundingly voted.
They also want Phil Jones and Chris Smalling out as well, but the voting was much closer to being evenly split on the duo.
-Finally, United’s leading scorer this past season, Romelu Lukaku, was spotted hanging out with ’90s rap star Fat Joe. He’s not a player, he just crushes a lot.
