There is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss today, so let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this Saturday.
–Anthony Martial wants out of Manchester United, believing his career has plateaued and then declined at Old Trafford. You really can’t blame him for feeling this way given that Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard are all currently higher up the pecking order in attack than the Frenchman.
While Martial wants out, manager Jose Mourinho is determined to keep him, and thus we’re headed for a major stand-off before the summer transfer window closes. Numerous clubs have been linked to Martial this summer including: Juventus, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Mourinho has promised Martial he will start the Premier League season opener versus Leicester City, but that’s only because three of the four attacking players listed above are currently on holiday after the World Cup and won’t be match fit by the time the season rolls around.

-Martial impressed tonight in the 1-1 draw with Club America as did youngster Tahith Chong, who signed from Feyenoord in 2016. When he joined the club, he made the following prescient comments to Elf Voetbal:
“Here and at Arsenal, young players get their chance earlier than at Chelsea or at Manchester City,” he said.
“United gave me a better feeling. You can feel it immediately when you walk in a club.”
The 18-year-old got a nice early opportunity with the senior team tonight, and he showed glimpses that he could be special some day.
-Chilean Alexis Sanchez has overcome his travel VISA issues and has now joined the rest of his teammates in the United States. Now that he’s in training camp, here are five things the Daily Mirror noticed.
