Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is doing World Cup punditry work for the Kremlin owned broadcast network RT this tournament. Perhaps you caught his video that went viral last week, the segment where he made all of his group stage predictions.

Mourinho followed that up by telling the world yesterday how deep he thinks England will advance in this tournament. Mourinho pegs Three Lions to lose to Brazil in the quarterfinals. Here’s a link to more on that

While Mourinho predicts England to bow out in the quarters, he also maintains that they have the potential to win it all. The bookies seem to somewhat agree with that idea, as Three Lions are in the second tier of tournament favorites when you look at the list of every nation’s odds.

Mourinho sees four of his own Red Devils players, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young and Phil Jones, in the England side, so naturally he’s backing them to succeed in Russia this month.

“They have a good group of young but experienced players. All of them play in the most competitive competition in the world, the Premier League, all of them play for the best teams with experience of playing in the Champions League which is a high level of football, obviously,” Mourinho said in an interview with Sky Sports.

“Yes, I think they can do it,”

England, who received a very favorable draw and are widely expected to advance to the knockout round, open up their World Cup campaign Monday night against Tunisia.
