Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is signed to a one year deal at Manchester United, but he has an option for a second season. The colorful Swede said just last week that he could be at Old Trafford for “more than three years.”
Manager Jose Mourinho gave his weekly press conference today ahead of tomorrow night’s clash versus Southampton. It’s the home regular season debut at United for Mourinho, Ibrahimovic and it turns out world transfer fee record breaking midfielder Paul Pogba. (here’s a link to more on that)
After the regular season opener, Mourinho said that Zlatan doesn’t have the mind and body of a 34-year-old; and it was a tremendous compliment.
Today, Mourinho said that he expects Ibrahimovic to stick around Old Trafford for more than just one season: “I see him happy. I ask him every day because I know how important it is for a family guy like he is.”
“I ask every day about his wife, kids, house, integration, and he is happy. Everybody is happy. His motivation is happy, so I have no doubt that he will be here for two years.”
