HENRIK-MKHITARYAN

As Puff Daddy once sang “it’s all about the Benjamins,” only in this case it’s not. Also, the currency being paid out here wouldn’t be American, and hence would not have Benjamin Franklin on it. Moving on…

Manchester United attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan gave a very interesting interview to German publication Sport Bild, which covered a wide array of topics. The former Borussia Dortmund man, who moved up to United this past summer his back at the critics who suggested he was greedy, and said his move from BVB to Old Trafford was all about the money.

“I can’t understand that, and it’s wrong. If it had only been for the money, I would have joined Anzhi Makhachkala and not Dortmund from [Shakhtar] Donetsk.”

“But I did not want that. I wanted to continue my development. I don’t want to miss anything. Life’s too short to pass on something. I did not make a decision against Dortmund in the summer. It was time to take on a new challenge,” the Armenian national team captain said.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan also said that United was not his dream club and that the Premier League is much stronger and more athletic than the German Bundesliga. (Read more on that here)

In looking down the stretch of this season Henrikh Mkhitaryan said:

“Let’s wait. In England, things can turn with a snip of the finger. We were far, far away from [qualifying for the] Champions League only a few weeks ago. Now it’s only five points to the second position. Competition in the Premier League is high. That’s why it makes no sense to say it’s a good or bad season now.”
