Manchester United Transfer Talk: Haaland, Loader, Bailly

The January window will get here before you know it, so let’s take a spin through the latest Manchester United transfer rumors. Executive Vice President Ed Woodward gave a conference call to United investors yesterday and of course the upcoming transfer window was discussed. He made some vague, corporatespeak style comments about the window and a lot of media have since tried to read in between the lines of what he said.

Here’s what we do know, United have been and will continue being linked to a ton of players this window. A TON.

One of those names that consistently comes up is Erling Haaland, the 19-year-old Norwegian who has scored 26 goals in 18 games across all competitions for RB Salzburg.

His father, former Manchester City midfielder Alfe-Inge Haaland, recently visited United’s Carrington training complex writes The Athletic. The elder Haaland is also a former international teammate of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which might give MUFC the inside track supposedly. The young striker is wanted by almost all of the big clubs in Europe, so United faces a lot of competition.

Elsewhere, United are set to possibly offer the often injured Eric Bailly a new contract extension. Yahoo has more over at this link.

Finally, United are also keen on another talented young striker, perhaps as a fall back option if Haaland doesn’t happen. It’s Reading’s Danny Loader, according to Sky Sports. The 20-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and talks on a possible extension have stalled out.
